About Steven Point (xwĕ lī qwĕl tĕl)
The Honourable Steven Point (xwĕ lī qwĕl tĕl) is a former Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia. A member of the Skowkale First Nation, he is the first Indigenous person to hold the position of UBC Chancellor.
Dr. Point is a double alumnus of UBC; he received his Bachelor of Laws in 1985 and was awarded an honorary Doctor of Laws degree in 2013.
